Ashleys Workshop (Ancient Wisdom) Dragon's Blood

I was pleased to find these cones on Amazon. I was pleased because it appeared they were made in the UK*; they were the famous Dragon's Blood fragrance; and they only cost £2.99 for a bag of 50 cones - postage included! What a deal!

They look great - a lovely velvety red colour, and the aroma in the bag is suggestive of what Dragon's Blood is supposed to smell of - a light camphor aroma, not as toxic as moth balls, but soft and pleasant. But looks are not everything! When they burn, they burn fairly rapidly, with modest smoke and an even more modest aroma. The aroma is simply of light and clean wood smoke - there's no character to it, and nothing of Dragon's Blood.

It's a shame that these cones are so useless!

*The range of cones sold by Ashleys Workshop are exactly the same as that sold by Ancient Wisdom importers and distributors.  Ancient Wisdom import their incense from India, Thailand and China. These cones are likely to come from India as unscented burning material, and then Ashley's Workshop dip them in a synthetic perfume and dye them red.
