Asoka Love in Life Incense Sticks Jasmine

Part of a pack of six different boxes each containing eight sticks, bought cheaply from a gift shop. The boxes do not give any information of the maker, though the inside wrapper says Asoka Trading Co. One of the boxes says Made in China, though Asoka are based in Bangalore. One of the boxes is trade marked as Shashi Industries. The sticks are all made the same - very neatly rolled charcoal and sandalwood paste onto pink dyed bamboo sticks, and then dipped in perfume. These are your standard everyday budget sticks in which there is little sense of the named scent, and what you mainly get is the aroma of the burning base material.

Jasmine is a popular incense scent, but it's not one that really grabs me. At its best it has a heady floral tone that is reasonably attractive, but mostly I'm fairly indifferent to it. This, though, is fairly decent. Not decent enough for me to want to buy it again, but it has a definite jasmine aroma, and is quite fat and heady. There is the sense of being in a garden hot house enveloped by the scent, or out on a warm summer's night and catching the scent as it wafts from a jasmine plant scrambling up a wall. It loses focus now and again, and becomes a bit too chemical, but even then it's not too bad. The best so far of the Darshan Love in Life pack.
